Samantha and Brian flew in from Brooklyn with about forty people and traded a city hall date for the limestone cliffs of Negril. They wanted something that felt less like a wedding and more like the start of a film — barefoot, sun-drunk, and entirely their own.
We covered the day from the quiet of the morning through a ceremony at the cliff's edge, the first dance under string lights, and a midnight swim nobody had planned. Two cinematographers, eleven hours.
The ceremony was set for golden hour, which at Tensing Pen is the only sensible choice and also the least forgiving one. The cliffs face west into open water; there is no tree line to soften the last hour, and nothing to bounce light back onto faces once the sun drops below the horizon line. It is spectacular for roughly forty minutes and then it is over. Everything we planned that day was built backwards from that window.
